Woodbury Demolition Begins Next Week

The Woodbury demolition is slated to begin next week. Abatement is complete in the gym, pool and west wing of the building. Abatement is ongoing in the east wing and the 1917 building (center of the Woodbury building that will be renovated). Mass demolition will begin with the pool, then move to the gym in August. The District and Gilbane are working on signage for parts of the construction fence to show a rendering of the new Woodbury building.

District Meets with Ludlow Community Association

Shaker Heights Schools Communications Specialist Julie Hullett attended the Ludlow Community Association meeting on Wednesday. She answered questions from Ludlow residents about construction and enrollment for the Ludlow Early Learning Center. As of this week, 110 students are enrolled in preschool! The District is planning a dedication ceremony and open house for the Ludlow Early Learning Center. Stay tuned for more information soon.

Ludlow Renovation Update

The Ludlow renovation is going well. Foundation work is ongoing for the new vestibule and ramp entrance. Walls are being set for the vestibule, as well. Ductwork installation is taking place in the gymnasium. Various other types of work are ongoing, including painting, wood floor staining, and installation of the elevator shaft, restroom wall tile, roofing, windows, and plumbing and lighting fixtures. Several inspections by the City building department are scheduled to take place in late July and early August.
