Joint Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) and Woodbury Neighbors Design Input Session
On October 29, members of the Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) and Woodbury Neighbors Group participated in a design session with architects from GPD Group and Robert P. Madison International. The work session provided an opportunity to discuss site plan options for the Woodbury Campus and provide feedback.
Over two dozen members convened in small groups to review five proposed site options. Groups summarized the pros and cons of each site plan in the following areas: the building’s total footprint, main entrance location, parking, people/bike/auto circulation, athletic facilities, and active and passive green space. Review the feedback on each of the five site plan options.
The next meeting of the Facilities Advisory Committee is scheduled for Monday, December 2 at 5:30 p.m. The next meeting of the Woodbury Neighbors Group is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4 at 7 p.m.
Review of Woodbury Campus Design at November 13 Board of Education Meeting
On Wednesday, November 13, the architects will present preferred site designs for the Woodbury Campus. Residents are invited to attend the Board meeting, which takes place at 6 p.m. in the Small Auditorium of Shaker Heights High School, or view the meeting via livestream. The presentation will be posted to the Board’s web page prior to the meeting. Residents are encouraged to provide feedback in person or by emailing info@cobaltgroupinc.com.
Woodbury School Visual Preference Survey
While the design team is finalizing site options for the Woodbury Campus, they are also seeking input into the exterior design aspects of the project. Residents of all ages are invited to rank their “preference” for the “look and feel” of the exterior design of the new Woodbury building. The architects are specifically interested in understanding the community’s preference for how the architecture of the main part of the Woodbury building (circa 1918 and which will be renovated) blends in with the academic, auditorium and natatorium spaces to be constructed. The online community-wide Visual Preference Survey is available to all Shaker residents through November 30. Everyone is encouraged to participate!
Middle Years Programme Student Survey
Education Elements, the program consultant working with the District on the update of the Middle Years Programme, is administering an in-class survey the week of November 18. All students in grades 6-8 will participate. Engagement opportunities for families and community members will be announced soon.
