ABR Provides Feedback on Woodbury Exterior

In September, the City’s Architectural Board of Review (ABR) heard a presentation from the District about renovations of the Woodbury school building. Architects from the GPD Group and Robert P. Madison International represented the District at the hearing.

The ABR offered various comments and recommendations, including reducing the number of roof ladders; using champagne colored windows on the third floor, where the siding is metal panels; studying the connection of the glass curtain wall to the masonry at the South Woodland Road facade; and making the columns of the front entrance trellis lighter in feel and appearance. Revised plans addressing these recommendations are expected to be submitted to the ABR in November.

Mesh, Graphics Installed on Woodbury Construction Fence

Mesh and graphics were installed on the construction fence around the Woodbury building. The mesh provides screening for neighbors who live near the school. A rendering of the front entrance of the new building is also shown on the fence.

Woodbury renderings were shared with the community at Coffee with the Superintendent at the Van Aken District on October 10, and shared with local realtors this week. Click to see interior and exterior renderings for the new Middle Years building.

Final Masonry Work Underway at Ludlow

Gilbane Building Company is in the final stages of masonry work at the Ludlow Early Learning Center. The contractors are continuing stone installation at the north vestibule, along with washing exterior brick. Gilbane has also repaired damaged asphalt in the parking lot, poured concrete around storm drains, laid the final coat of asphalt, and striped the parking lot.
