Student Success Team

Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, the DPS Student Success Team partnered with several of our Community Champions to encourage student attendance within the district. Community Champions donated ice cream coupons, free crazy bread passes, pancakes and we were able to purchase Bluetooth earbuds thanks to grant money that was awarded to our team.

Students with perfect and improved attendance during the school year were rewarded with these and other incentives.

During the last week of the 2022-2023 school year, the Student Success Team visited the Community Champions to present them with certificates of appreciation signed by Superintendent Chávez.

A great big thank you to Mama Fats, iHop, Little Ceasars and Luna County JJCS. The DPS Student Success Team looks forward to partnering with these and all other Community Champions for the upcoming school year.

Deming Intermediate School

DIS Student Council attended the Junior Student Council Conference held at Deming High School. They did a great job of representing our school and exhibiting leadership skills.

DIS students had an opportunity to be Principal and Assistant Principal of the Day. Students were chosen based on grades, attendance, and leadership. They did a great job of assisting administrators throughout the day. This experience sparked an interest in these students becoming educators.

Two students had perfect attendance for the school year. Congratulations!

DHS Summer Reading Assignments

The end of the school year is here and the ELA department at Deming High School would like to remind Honors and AP students on the importance of the summer reading assignment. The purpose behind having students read these books is to expose students to the rigorous texts that they will see in college and to help develop the reading strategies they will need for SAT and AP exams. The assignments and digital copies of the books can be found on our school’s website under the Information Nation’s link. These assignments will be due at the start of the next school year, and we look forward to seeing you next year.
