Teacher Serves in the Classroom and as a Leader in the Army National Guard 

Kristin Schutte serves Bancroft Elementary students, and she also serves her country as a platoon leader in the Nebraska Army National Guard’s logistical operations. 


“The military is something I do one weekend each month,” said Schutte. “Being a kindergarten teacher is what I feel I'm supposed to be doing every day.”

Interview Fair

Human Resources is hosting a Spring classified interview fair that will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at TAC. Our staff will be available to assist with applications and answer questions. All candidates will be guaranteed an interview! Please share this hiring event with your staff and community. Please contact Megan Cook with any questions.

Stop the Bleed Training

Health Services has partnered with Region VII Disaster Health Response Ecosystems to offer all Omaha Public Schools employees four free Stop the Bleed trainings. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign encouraging bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. 

 

Participation is optional; however, staff will receive one hour of extra duty pay for professional development in accordance with negotiated agreements. In addition, each participant will receive a free C-A-T tourniquet for attending!

One-hour Stop the Bleed training sessions from 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.

  • Thursday, Jan. 25, at Burke High
  • Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Northwest High
  • Tuesday, April 2, at North High
