Help spread the word- early online registration & Pre-K applications for 2020-21 are now open!

We are still working diligently to address some questions regarding the current school year, but we think it's important to allow families to get a head start on planning for the year ahead as well. Families of new SCS students typically have to start the registration process in person to get their required PowerSchool account. However, due to current circumstances, families can now start the process by emailing iChoose@scsk12.org . Returning students only have to verify and update their personal info, such as contact info, student health info and parental consent. Also, for the first time ever, Pre-K applications are totally online. All registration details can be found HERE , and the Pre-K application process can be found HERE .
Don't forget- the 2020-21 transfer period in now open.

The 2020-21 transfer period opened up on Monday, March 30. This annual process is for all school staff interested in transferring to a new school site next school year. The transfer period will be open through April 24 . Please read this memo from HR for the full details.
Lack of home internet creating challenges with remote working and learning? We have some solutions.

Many businesses and community agencies are stepping up their support to help address challenges caused by COVID-19 and make it easier to abide by social distancing guidelines. Home internet access is a challenge for a lot of our employees and families. Comcast, AT&T and even the TDOE are offering special deals to make it easier for people to stay connected at home - including several weeks or months of FREE internet service. Get all the details here, along with many other community resources for families.
Microsoft Teams is the most popular - and supported - way for SCS staff to connect remotely!

Working remotely is new for a lot of us, but it doesn't have to be hard. Our Office 365 suite includes an awesome virtual meeting platform, called Microsoft Teams, that allows colleagues to stay connected and be just as productive and collaborative as they would be in person. You can connect from any device with internet access, share screens, chat and post resources during meetings and more. There's even an app. Since it's part of our SCS 365 platform, it's supported internally as well!  Click here for live virtual and self-paced trainings from our IT team.
Cigna's new Cigna 90 Now prescription plan can help with social distancing concerns.

With new current social distancing guidelines in place, Cigna is helping to minimize social interactions without restricting your access to important medications. If you have a current Cigna healthcare plan through the District, the new Cigna 90 Now program  offers you more choice in how and where you can fill your prescriptions, either in 30-day or 90-day supplies.  Get the details here.
