There's a new scam circulating. Don't fall for it!

Online scammers have tricky ways to get your info, and sometimes they can be pretty convincing! We've seen a recent increase in fake social media ads and spam emails regarding SCS insurance updates, and the latest one we've spotted is circulating on Facebook. Please DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS you see online, in emails or social media! Social media is the easiest to avoid because SCS does not advertise benefits-related updates - or anything related to personal employee information, for that matter - on our social media pages. The same goes for our approved vendors. If the info is legit, you'll only get it one of these ways:

  • Email: Open enrollment and other benefits updates will be shared in District newsletters, including the Teacher Weekly, District Updates and/or an official Human Resources Update. You can verify the authenticity of these emails by looking for in the sender's address. If you don't see it, delete it!

  • Phone: When open enrollment season begins in a few months, be on the lookout for reminder calls from us. Just remember, the caller ID will show a 416- number. If not, don't listen!

  • Direct Mail: Our benefits vendors are authorized to send direct mail for coverage updates, claims and charges via U.S. mail. But please understand that vendors not identified in your benefits selections are not authorized to solicit personal info via direct mail. So, if you didn't sign up for it, don't fall for it!
