Help support the fight against breast cancer, and get a special THINK PINK gift box!
The HR team is leading SCS in the fight against breast cancer by partnering with the Susan G. Komen Foundation on a $10,000 fundraising drive in the month of October. Now through October 23, employees can make cash donations to support the foundation at the Barnes, COE and Bond Building reception desks, M-F, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. All donations are welcomed and appreciated. Get a THINK PINK gift box with a pink face mask for donations of $20 or more while supplies last! #SCSTHINKPINK

Virtual Survivor Wall:The Coordinated School Health and HR teams are creating a Virtual Breast Cancer Survivor Wall to honor SCS survivors for their courage, commitment and inspiration. The video montage will be shared in our District publications and on our SCS social media pages.Get submission details here.
Virtual Hero Wall: As we approach Veterans Day (November 11), the HR team wants to salute and spotlight our SCS military veterans who have served or are presently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. A Virtual Veterans Day Hero Wall video will be created and shared in our District publications and on the SCS social media pages. Get submission details here.
Methodist's Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the BOE October 26, 29 and 30. Limited appointments - sign up now!
SCS and CIGNA have teamed up with Methodist Healthcare to bring digital mammograms to you! The Methodist Mobile Unit will be performing on-site screenings October 26, 29 and 30 at the BOE from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are available for women 35 and older who have not had their annual mammogram in the past 12 months. There is no cost to CIGNA members if this is a regular preventive care screening and you have not had a mammogram in 2020. Limited appointments are available, so sign up here before they all fill up. Breast Cancer Awareness: Know your risk.
Did you know women have a 1 in 8 chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation? Although breast cancer is not preventable, there are risk factors and warning signs you should know. Please see these helpful facts from CIGNA.
Flu shots are available for employees through Nov. 25.
SCS and Methodist are partnering to provide flu shots for employees this fall. Appointments are available every Thursday and Friday, TODAY through November 25, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Family Care Center on Flicker. Flu shots are free for employees with a CIGNA health plan and $20 for employees who are not on the District's plan. Dependents can also get a flu shot for $20. View the flyer here. The Coordinated School Health and HR teams have more FREE outdoor fitness opportunities planned over the next several weeks. The new Fitness in the Park series at Shelby Farms is every Tuesday and Thursday through October 29. There are a variety of classes for all fitness levels.
