Help support our students during the Return Stronger Uniform & School Supply Drive TODAY!

As we return stronger to in-person learning for the first time since March 2020, we're asking the community to help support our students. We're collecting uniforms, backpacks, computer cases, school supplies, face masks and more for students during the Return Stronger Uniform & School Supply Drive. Monetary donations can be made online, or donated items can be dropped off in-person TODAY at the Board of Education, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Learn more here.
The next Return Stronger Community Town Hall is SATURDAY at 5 p.m.

As we prepare to welcome students in grades 6-12 back to schools for in-person learning March 8, we’re inviting families to join us for a community town hall meeting to hear from District leaders and get all the information they need to be ready. Deputy Superintendents Dr. Angela Whitelaw and Dr. John Barker will be sharing highlights of the S.A.F.E. School Re-Entry Plan, updates on daily school operations and facts about blended in-person and virtual instruction. They'll also be answering questions about the topics that interest families most. Click here for more info and the link to join.
Show your appreciation for SCS School Social Workers March 7-13!

View these ways you can show your appreciation for our incredible SCS school social workers during School Social Worker Week March 7-13. A simple gesture of appreciation can go a long way in making these important members of our SCS family feel valued and supported, so please use #SSWMaskup21 to express your thanks on social media next week.
March is National Nutrition Month!

Most people can determine if a food is healthy or not. Yet, because everyone has different bodies, cultures, medical histories, and taste preferences, personal nutrition is unique. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ theme, “Personalize Your Plate,” encourages people to create nutritious meals that consider all these factors. During March, we encourage you to take a 4-step approach to nutrition: eat various healthy foods daily, plan meals, learn to create both nutritious and tasty meals, and consult a registered dietician for customized plans. For more information, click here.
Tweak your nutrition as you age; your health will thank you!

As part of National Nutrition Month, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends that you adjust your diet as your body ages and changes. Click here for a great article on nutrition for every life stage. Harvard Medical School also offers a great article explaining the key factors that influence your nutritional health as you age.
Spring into action by signing up for a mammogram!

Spring is almost here, and it's the perfect time to take charge of your health! There's no cost to CIGNA members if this is a regular preventive care screening and you have NOT had a mammogram in 2021. Sign up here! Limited appointments available. For additional questions, send an email to benefits@scsk12.org.
Did you know spring cleaning can keep you healthy?

Clutter can make our lives feel more stressful which, in turn, can impact our health. Read this month’s VitaMin on how to be healthy and happy by simply decluttering. Also, check out this month’s VitaMin healthy recipe: Adobo-Braised Chicken.
