“Sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful” – Beau Taplin
Last Sunday, the Class of 2023 celebrated the end of their high school journey at their Senior Sunset and final clap out. As the last senior drove by, I reflected upon all the accomplishments we have made together as a district this year. From academics to athletics to fine arts, our students have thrived. Their achievements have put Beachwood Schools in the national and global spotlight.
Throughout this school year, the community came out to support the District. Hundreds of community members provided input on the elementary facilities project. Families created six affinity groups to enhance connection and support in Beachwood Schools, and community members led meaningful conversations with students during the Many Cultures, One Bison Summit. All these accomplishments show what a supportive community such as Beachwood can foster. Thank you to our teachers, staff, and administrators who have worked so hard this year to provide our students with the best education and support. I am grateful to our families and community. Your partnership and engagement helped us achieve our goals. I can’t wait to see what we continue to achieve together as One Bison.

We want to congratulate the graduating seniors and wish them well in their new and exciting journey. Last, our department would like to give a shout out to the parents and community members who make the Beachwood City School District the best place for our students to thrive. For our returning students, we hope you come back eager and ready to learn after a couple of months relaxing and enjoying all of what summer has to offer.

Board Approves Updated Five-Year Financial Forecast
The Board of Education approved an updated five-year forecast from Treasurer/CFO Michele Mills during a regular meeting held May 22. The forecast was amended to reflect changes in federal COVID-relief funding, the purchase of two additional buses, staffing changes for fiscal year 2024, and a negotiated three-year agreement with the Beachwood Union of Support Staff. State law requires all public schools to file a five-year financial forecast with the Ohio Department of Education twice a year in November and May. Go to BoardDocs to read the amended five-year forecast.
