Advanced and Basic Lay Servant Ministries courses available

Laity and supply pastors from across the TWK UMC Conference are welcome to attend any of the following trainings:


The Purchase District is offering an Advanced Lay Servant Course August 15–16, 2025. The course is, Transforming Evangelism, led by B. Andrew Halford is grounded in the teachings of John Wesley, this course explores relational evangelism as a way of sharing faith through connection, hospitality, and community, while also helping churches guide new believers along clear pathways of discipleship. It builds confidence and vision for evangelism, making it approachable and rooted in the Church’s call to make disciples for the transformation of the world. The Red River District is offering a Basic Lay Servant Course on August 2 and 9, 2025—an opportunity to explore your calling to lay ministry, deepen your discipleship, and strengthen your ability to serve. The Harpeth River District is offering Advanced Lay Servant Courses on August 16 with an additional 4 hours on a date to be determined. Topics are Soul Reset, For the Common Good, and Mission Possible. Learn more and register here.

TWK Anti-Racism Coalition Announces Racial Justice Grants

In support of the conference's Discipleship Priority of Disrupting & Dismantling Racism & Discrimination, the TWK Anti-Racism Coalition is offering grants to local churches, ministry teams, small groups, Sunday School Classes, youth groups, and Campus Ministries for Racial Justice / Racial Healing Initiatives. Learn more

Birthright Citizenship Webinar | July 17

In response to the recent Supreme Court decision related to Birthright Citizenship, an alliance of United Methodist general agencies, the United Methodist Council of Bishops, and partner organizations is hosting a live webinar on July 17, 2025, at 7:00 pm Central Time via Zoom (Registration Required). | More information

Financial Lessons for Young People | Wespath

Wespath wants to help the next generation build smart money habits with the Financial Fitness Summer Camp – a series of 6 live, online webinars packed with interactive activities and age-appropriate lessons on money basics. They will address relevant topics for kids, tweens and teens like saving, budgeting, credit, banking and investing. Learn more about these sessions available from July 22 - 31.

ENCORE Ministry Foundation & Discipleship Ministries Launch Older Adult Survey

ENCORE Ministry Foundation, in partnership with Discipleship Ministries, has launched a survey to better learn the ministry needs of older adults. This survey was created because older adults (65+) are living longer, serving deeper, and shaping our congregations in many ways. To learn more and take the survey, click here.

Enhancing Online Worship | Recording Available

On June 28, TWK Faith & Innovation team sponsored a webinar to help churches take the steps to enhance online worship platforms and create high-level online worship experiences. The recording is now available for those who may have missed the webinar. Watch the webinar here.
