Youth Answer the Call to "Begin Again"

Check out the Conference Recap of the Inaugural TWK Youth Gathering. I had the pleasure of sitting down with the Purchase District Youth and other youth from around the TWK Conference to hear about what is next for gatherings and learning as fellow United Methodists. There were great ideas and energy from our young people. Checkout the pictures below of the event taken by David Weatherly. -Peace of Christ, Nancy

Charge Conference Schedule now available

The 2022 Charge Conference schedule and forms are available here. Forms are due in the district office 2 weeks prior to scheduled charge conference.

This year’s conferencing will center on Celebration. We have a lot to celebrate in the Purchase District, and we want to hear from each church and leadership about where you are seeing God’s inbreaking of the Kingdom in your ministry context. When we tell our story we claim our unique and God-given identities as Christ-followers who work, worship, and find our place of belonging in and through The United Methodist Church.

Please begin the work that goes into your Charge Conference forms but with equal energy begin to identify your churches’ unique and God-given stories of redemption and resurrection that you would like to share as we gather. Who doesn’t like a good story?

MissionInsite Training to be Offered

Sign-up now for the Introduction to MissionInsite training session to be held on Tuesday, November 1, from 10-11 a.m., via Zoom. This is an opportunity for both clergy and laity to learn about the data that MissionInsite gathers and how it can be a powerful tool in ministry. Appointed clergy in good standing will be able to request access as a user and then begin pulling reports to gain demographic information about their community. The training itself will be 30-40 minutes, with the remaining time to be used for Q & A. Please register for the session. The Zoom meeting link will be emailed the day before to those who have registered.

Hurricane Disaster Response

Right now, the best way for our churches to support the people of Puerto Rico and those impacted by storms in the southeast states is to give to UMCOR. TWK Disaster Response Coordinator, Robert Craig, will communicate any material or ERT volunteer needs as those requests come from our sister conferences.

Bishop Announces Called Annual Conference Sessions

In addition to the TWK Annual Conference meeting on June 19-21, 2023, in Memphis, there will be two called special sessions of the body in 2023. | Details

TWK Church & Society | Social Justice Ministry Survey

The TWK Church & Society Team would like to learn what social justice areas are of interest to people throughout the conference, in order that they can provide information, connect people engaged in similar ministries, and begin developing strategies to address these issues. Please follow this link to a brief survey to share your areas of interest with the team. Learn more about the work of UM Church & Society.
