Ditesco Newsletter
As another year draws to a close, it offers time for reflection and pause. From my perspective, while 2020 has been filled with many challenges, it has been a time for change, growth, and opportunity. At Ditesco, we are honored to work on impactful projects with people dedicated to collectively making a difference to our communities. These projects not only bring potable water to homes, but they also create a sense of place, provide training and education, upgrade infrastructure, shelter animals, support mental health, and create identity across Northern Colorado.
Humanity has been tested this year. And I believe that through purpose and leadership we will be better; better in life, better in treating one another, better in stewardship.
I see a very bright future for Ditesco, our clients, and industry partners. Our investment in the places we live, work, and play continues to make Northern Colorado one of the best places in America. For us, 2021 will bring our 15th anniversary, a host of transformative projects, and, for me, an opportunity to work with the very best team in the industry.
It is with much gratitude and appreciation that I close this message. I look forward to seeing everyone in 2021! Have a great holiday season!

Soldier Canyon Filter Plant 15 MGD Expansion

Since the groundbreaking of the Soldier Canyon Filter Plant Expansion  project in June of 2019, there has been tremendous progress on the site. We have had the pleasure of being involved with this project since the planning stages, but we also continue to provide construction management services in partnership with Garney Construction and Stantec throughout the construction process.
This project team is hard at work expanding the plant's capacity by an additional 15 MGD for a total capacity of 60 MGD! This expansion includes the installation of additional flocculation/sedimentation basins, disinfection processes, a chlorine contact tank, and solids handling facilities. This quarter alone, the team at Solider Canyon has reached major milestones that we are extremely proud of.

Above, you can see the last precast panel
s being installed for the flocculation/sedimentation building, concluding construction on the building shell. The team also finished the structural cast-in-place concrete construction for the decant pond, CCT, and the soda-ash structures. In addition to completing structural concrete, Garney also set the new Soda Ash Silo.
Currently, the pre-engineered metal building erection for the chemical building is underway and the 42" Horsetooth raw waterline installation is nearly complete. Since the project broke ground, this team has made substantial progress and we cannot wait to see the project completion this summer

37th Street Overlay

After only eight months of planning, design, and construction, the City of Evans 37th Street Overlay project is almost complete! This project included reconstruction and resurfacing of 37th Street from 23rd Avenue to Highway 85 and from east of Highway 85 to the Union Pacific railroad tracks.
Ditesco provided professional engineering services during the pre-design phase of the project and monitored the engineering quality throughout the project design progression.
By the start of December, the team was already two weeks ahead of schedule, with all concrete and asphalt road work completed! Finishing ahead of a very tight schedule with long hours put in by the contractor, the City of Evans, and Ditesco, the work has been completed and 37th Street is now open to the traveling public.

Boyd Lake Water Treatment Plant

Ditesco started working with the City of Greeley in 2019 to help with construction management services for the Boyd Lake Water Treatment Plant. Our team has been a part of this project from the design phase and will be working on it throughout construction.

As of October, the Boyd Lake liquid oxygen storage (LOX) and lake aeration system installation were completed. This aeration system installation included 9,000' of supply piping and 3,000' of aeration piping in the deepest part of the southern half of Boyd lake.  This installation will improve the lake water quality and  higher quality water for Greeley residents. The LOX storage and lake aeration system are a small component of the phased improvements project at the Boyd Lake Filter Plant over the 5-year construction period.
In November, the construction for the second phase of the project began. During this phase, Ditesco will assist in the construction of a new chemical feed building in addition to the work on the structural concrete. The structural concrete work is expected to be complete by the end of January and ready for building erection in February of 2021.

Congratulations to Jenna, J.J. and Kelsey for passing their P.E. exams!

Our team is so proud of all of your hard work to achieve this milestone and all you do for Ditesco.
We are excited to continue to watch your careers develop and grow!
