This latest scam consists of Mr. Shenanigans calling cardholders pretending to be from their Bank or Credit Union and notifying the cardholder that they have fraud on their bank card. Mr. Shenanigans then proceeds to
verify
the card number with you, asking for the expiration date and the CVV code of the card.
After that, he will tell the cardholder that they will be receiving a new card in the mail but in order to send you that
new
card, he asks you to enter your current PIN # into the phone and then to enter a new PIN # into the phone. In this scam, although the cardholder is led to believe that they are receiving a new card in the mail, Mr. Shenanigans now has the card data needed so he can go shopping with your bank card.
Please friends,
