Rest in Peace, Pope Francis
Pope Francis, 1936-2025
"God is the light that illuminates the darkness, even if it does not dissolve it, and a spark of divine light is within each of us." —Pope Francis
On Easter Monday, many of us woke up to the news of Pope Francis' passing and the Holy See Press Office announced on Tuesday that Pope Francis’ funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00am (3:00am Central Daylight Time) in St. Peter’s Square. The body of the late Pope Francis was transferred to St. Peter’s Basilica this morning to lie in state until his funeral on Saturday morning.
A special prayer time for the Rosary, Novena & Chaplet will be held this Friday at 6pm at St. Julian Eymard Church and will include the Pope Francis Rosary, followed by a Memorial Mass in his honor at 7pm.
We will stream the Funeral Mass for Pope Francis live in Shea Hall this Saturday at 3am, doors will open at 2:30am, and the church will be open for up to 30 minutes following the funeral Mass for personal prayer and reflection. Please follow this link to signup so we know how many people to expect.

Annual Catholic Appeal: Together We Bring Hope
Thank you for your support!
This year’s theme for the Annual Catholic Appeal is Together we bring hope. It echoes the theme of the Holy Year Pilgrims of Hope. It also resonates with our efforts of renewal in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Contributions to the Appeal are an effective way to bring hope into our world, especially to those in need.
A portion of donations above our parish goal is returned to us and used for special parish projects. Thanks to past generosity, we've upgraded sound systems, security cameras and installed narthex screens. We'll soon begin restroom upgrades at both churches with proceeds from last year’s campaign!
This year’s rebate helps upgrade our playground, used year-round by both parish and school—let’s make it happen together!
| | Thank you for your generous support of the Annual Catholic Appeal—your past and present gifts make a lasting impact on our parish and the wider Church! | |
Volunteer for Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW)
Sundays Through May
Looking for a fun way to serve during Mass? From September to May, we invite kids to share in a child-based Liturgy of the Word, alternating between the 9:15am Mass (SJE) and 10:30am Mass (QR). We need volunteers (teens or adults) to assist our CLW Leader and help guide our little ones to their designated worship space and back. It's a great opportunity to earn service hours while making a big impact! 🙌

Gospel in Focus
April 27, 2025 After He rises from the dead,Jesus appears to the disciples andperforms many signs before them. “Jesus came and stood in their midst and said tothem, ‘Peace be with you.’” —John 20:19
Discussion Questions
Who is someone you would describe as peaceful?
What is a time in your life when you felt peaceful? Where is a placethat you always feel peace?
What do you find is an obstacle to peace? It is a thing? A habit? How can we make space for Christ’s peace to fill our hearts?
| | | QUEEN OF THE ROSARY SCHOOL REPORT | Our parish school entered deeply into the Paschal Triduum with a beautiful start to Good Friday. The day began with Morning Prayer, attended by our principal, some teachers and school leadership, who then wrapped up their Rescued small group discussion with hearts and minds focused on the Passion. That evening, several current and former students brought the Stations of the Cross to life in our powerful and prayerful annual Living Stations of the Cross. It was an unforgettable portrayal of Christ’s journey to Calvary that helped prepare us to fully rejoice in the glory of His Resurrection. | | |
