IBC News

As old registrations expire, the IBC will only accept registrations through BioRAFT. All renewals and amendments should be processed in BioRAFT moving forward. BioRAFT registrations should contain descriptions of all ongoing projects. For questions about registering in BioRAFT, refer to the IBC registration webpage.

Note that changes made in BioRAFT are not submitted to the IBC for review until the principal investigator (PI) certifies the newest version of the registration. This includes changes to personnel and individual projects. Check the status of the registration in BioRAFT. A status of "awaiting amendment" indicates that changes have not been certified by the PI.

Keep Significant Financial Interest Disclosures up-to-date with changes to Outside Interests. Disclosures are required for Outside Interests that could potentially interfere with the employee's research obligations.

This includes combined payments in excess of $5,000, equity interest in excess of $5,000, any managerial interest, and the Outside Interests of spouses and dependent children. For more information visit the FCOI website. 

New Office on the Jupiter Campus

Research Integrity has a new office space on the Jupiter campus. The new office is located in MC-17, room 101. Dana Becker will be at the new office Mondays through Wednesdays.

New Research Data Policy

The Division of Research in partnership with a working group of associate deans of research has developed a Research Data Policy. This new policy addresses research data collection, storage, security, retention, sharing, destruction and transfer. The policy is applicable to all FAU faculty, staff and students engaged in the use of research data.

Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RECR) Expanded Training

The National Science Foundation (NSF) will require Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RECR) training for faculty and other senior personnel supported by NSF for new proposals submitted or due on or after July 31.

Each institution must have a plan in place to provide appropriate training and oversight in the RECR to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty and other senior personnel supported by the proposed research project.
