This week it is sheep, sheep, and more fantastic Faroese sheep. In the Faroe Islands, the woolly wonders are everywhere. In fact, sheep outnumber people by almost fifty percent. And with no natural predators--apart from humans--they are free to roam, and they do.

As we were hiking in the mindblowing landscape, I got to thinking (as one does) about how a day in the life of a sheep goes. What do they think about as they rip the grass from the ground or have a lie-down by the side of the road? You can read about what I imagine is on a sheep's mind in the MICRO FICTION section.

What is on my mind can be found in the WHAT I AM section. Not surprisingly, there are both good books and good music.

NEW IN MICRO FICTION

WHAT I AM...

I have started another round of method writing, a flip-side round where I get to write in the style of some of the biggest crime writers. This week I will be in the company of the esteemed Thomas Harris, reading his 2019 novel Cari Mora, the first in 44 years not to feature Hannibal Lecter. I remember reading Red Dragon home alone over an Easter break in my twenties. Never have I been so scared to go to bed. So I might be looking at some sleepless nights in the near future...

In my Faroese endeavors, I came across a ram who dreamed of dressing up like Sir Elton John in 1982. That spurred me to go back and listen to the 2018 album Revamp: The Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin, which is a fantastic compilation of other artists reinterpreting these timeless pop songs. So many of my favorites are on there, P!nk, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Mary J. Blige, Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, and Florence + The Machine. Well worth it!
