A Note from Our CEO
Greetings!
I'm feeling it. You're probably feeling it too. There's so much uncertainty right now. Families are losing SNAP benefits. The government shutdown is threatening programs we depend on. Every day brings news that makes it harder to breathe, harder to plan, harder to care for ourselves and the people we love.
When I feel this anxious, I remember two things that help: gratitude and action.
Gratitude reminds me of what's solid and good in my life - the people who matter, the moments of joy, the work that gives meaning to my days. Focusing on what I'm grateful for helps me feel grounded when everything else feels shaky.
Action gives me back my sense of agency. Even a small action - something concrete I can do - helps me feel less helpless. I can't solve all the world's problems, but I can do something.
Here are some small actions you might take this month:
•Host a food or diaper drive
•Make a donation to LEAP or another organization you love
•Bring shelf-stable food to our emergency pantry (or one near you)
•Join us for Breakfast with Babies - guaranteed to bring a smile to your face
Taking action and practicing gratitude won't fix everything. But they help us stay grounded, connected, and human in uncertain times. And that matters.
What will you do this month?
Warmly,
Lori Lander Goodman
Chief Executive Officer
