Greetings!
Over the years, my team and I have had the privilege of working with many professionals across industries. These individuals are typically quite driven and have experienced a great deal of success built on solid educations and strong work ethics. But, at a certain point,
many have felt as though they were stagnating.
If this sounds like you or someone you know, it's probably time to evaluate your professional development plan. Not the one set for you by human resources or the talent management team (though those can be helpful), but YOUR plan. A few questions to consider:
- What would you like to learn or explore to grow in your role?
- Does your professional development begin and end with continuing education or industry requirements?
- Are there knowledge or skill gaps you could address to become the "go-to" expert in your field?
- Do you proactively plan and invest in yourself to get where you want to be?
Periods of professional frustration or stagnation are a reminder that your career is just that - yours. Intentionally mapping out a plan with concrete goals and action items is key to getting what you want out of it. I encourage you to take a close look at where you are and where you want to be. Then make a plan to get there.
I'd love to hear about how you plan to reach your professional development goals and your tips for getting unstuck. Reply to this email, and let's chat.
