What do 5 Locations + 15 Sensors + 3,750 ft. of cable + AME Team equal? One happy customer.
AME joined forces with ZPMC, a crane manufacturer, for an exciting project on the world’s largest low-profile ship-to-shore cranes! Our service engineers ascended 53.3 meters up in the air to mount sensors that will collect time waveforms synchronously across 15 channels with PRUFTECHNIK's VIBGUARD.
The cranes are part of a wider project to improve infrastructure at a local port, including an upgrade to its existing crane fleet.
They have a reach and lift capability of 22 containers wide and seven containers high on deck.

Exciting news! AME just expanded its product and service portfolio by joining forces and partnering with CMC Marine. AME is now an authorized product distributor and service provider for all CMC products, including stabilizers, thrusters, and steering systems.
Founded in 2005, with headquarters in Pisa, Italy, CMC Marine designs and builds the most sophisticated yacht stabilization systems and thrusters, including the Stabilis Electra range. The fin stabilizer is the world’s only stabilization system using electricity rather than hydraulic transmission.
"To assist in promoting the introduction of CMC Marine USA to south Florida transient boats and yachts, we partnered with AME because of their expert services and large established client base." Buddy Morgan, Vice President of Sales, CMC Marine USA.

AME recently traveled to the Bahamas to perform vibration testing and dynamic balancing on a Genset using PRUFTECHNIK's VIBXPERT II. The diesel engine and generator were mounted on a single steel skid supported by recently updated Caterpillar 153-3865 isolation mounts.
After performing dynamic balancing, vibration levels reduced significantly. Vibration levels were found well within ISO 8528-9 tolerances for engine-driven AC generating sets.

A commercial vessel recently contracted AME to perform an emergency service on their five-ton Becker Rudder. The upper bearing failure damaged the steering mechanism along with the bearing housing and rudder shaft.
The AME team was able to quickly mobilize the 229-foot vessel to a local shipyard to perform emergency repairs. In six days, AME managed to remove the rudder, align and bore the upper bearing housing, and install a precision-machined sleeve. The rudder was reassembled and successfully tested during the post-vibration analysis.

They kicked off the morning in our machine shop at Lauderdale Marine Center (LMC) with a presentation by AME's CAO, Christine Battles, and announcements from WISTA.
|
The WISTA ladies were given a golf cart tour of the yachting facility, and they treated themselves to a delicious brunch at YOT Bar & Kitchen.
“In January, AME hosted the Florida chapter of the Women's International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) for their annual planning meeting. After almost a full year of virtual meetings, it was wonderful to be able to see one another - in person! AME was a terrific host, making sure everything was socially distant enough to where the members felt comfortable. WISTA members learned about AME and toured their facility. By adding a virtual component to the meeting, members who couldn't attend also got to experience AME. Thank you Christine, Rich and the entire AME team!” – Anna Silva, CoPresident of WISTA USA's Florida Chapter and the Operations Supervisor at Port Everglades.
