There is still time to put a portion of the upcoming backpay into your 457 tax deferred account. You can contribute up to the same amount as your annual TDA limit.


If you do not have a tax deferred 457 account you can easily open one by following the steps outlined in the video below. PLEASE DON"T DELAY TIME IS LIMITED!

If you already have a 457 account follow the instructions below for increasing your contribution before the pack-pay pay check. You can change the contribution for only the November 22nd pay period in which you will receive the back-pay.


First you must Log in to your account with the NYC Deferred Compensation Plan. You can access the Log in by clicking here.

1 In my retirement accounts dropdown click "New York City Deferred Compensation 457 plan"

2 Click "Contribution & Savings"

3 Click "Manage contributions"

4 Scroll down to Future Payday Contribution & click "Schedule"

5 Scroll down click "One Time Contributions"


Select the percentage that you wish to contribute and input it in the "Employee Before Tax" or "Roth Contribution"


*Note if you are electing "Employee Before Tax" you must put a ZERO in the "Roth Contributions"

6 Scroll down & select 11/22/23 from Calendar & click "Next"

7 Click Submit


Print the confirmation for your records
