The office is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30-12:30. We are closed on Monday and Thursday.

Food Pantry Donations
 
food_drive_girl.jpgPlease check the expiration date of all food that you wish to donate to the Frankton Community Food Pantry at the Frankton Christian Church. We CANNOT donate food that is expired. Thank you for your continued commitment to this mission that is truly serving our community well. 


Youth Kick-Off Event
  hotdog_picnic.jpg September 9th will be the back to school kick-off event for our youth at The Well. All kids from Junior and Senior High youth and their friends are invited to join in the fun, food, and fellowship at 5 pm. We hope to see you there! 

Tenderloin Dinner
  It's time to get organized for the August 18 Tenderloin Dinner.  Please mark your calendars now to make a note to bring 2 pies per family and contact Bobbie Welker (754-7693, bobrobw@live.com, or see her in person) to sign up to help that day.  

Jobs run from potato scrubbing at 10 a.m. through clean up that begins at 7 p.m. and ends when the dining room AND kitchen are back in order.  Let's make this dinner a great success.
 

Help Needed
  Bob and Jeannie Mills and Jay and Penny Jarrett would like to find some volunteers to learn how to clean the fryers a few days after the Tenderloin Dinners.

Annual Walk for Life August 18 
Join First Choice for Women's Annual Walk for Life on August 18. This fun family friendly event will be held  Saturday, August 18,   a t Reardon Auditorium, located at 1100 E 5th in Street, Anderson, Indiana. 

Check-in begins at 8:30 AM and there will be a 1.2 mile walk through the beautiful Anderson University Campus! Trophies are given to the walker who collects the most pledges and the team captain who recruits the most walkers! In addition, the team of walkers who collects the most pledges will receive award certificates commemorating the event! Walkers can  earn a FREE t-shirt   by registering online before July 31st, 2018 and collecting $50 or more in donation sponsorships through their online walker web page. 

There will be a free IHOP pancake breakfast and lots of fun stuff for the kiddo's including; professional face painting, a bounce house and balloons! It's going to be a great time, we hope to see you there!
If It's Tuesday, It's Faith & Fitness at The Factory
Faith & Fitness is a new ministry at Frankton First UMC. Join us on Tuesday evenings at 6 PM for faith, fellowship and fitness at The Factory.

We will have a short devotion at the beginning and then start the exercises. 
Andrea Knotts leads a low impact chair exercise program after devotions. Hannah Knotts guides participants in a  medium to high impact workout called Revelation Wellness

Bring your hand weights, mats, and water! (We have a few weights and bands for some to use but not very many.) 
24/7 Pantry Available in Frankton
We have another source of food available for those in need in the Frankton area. It is located on the high school grounds off Clyde Street. Pass the word. If you need food, please take something. If you want to donate items, put them in there.

The other community food pantry is operated out of the Frankton Christian Church's Family Life Center. It is open on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Help us spread the word about these two options that are available.

Grief & Caregiver Support Group 
The Madison Christian Church hosts a monthly Grief and Caregiver Support Group. The group meets at 4 PM on the 4th Sunday at MCC.

Pastor Donna Herring leads discussion on dealing with grief, along with the stress of being a caregiver for a loved one.

You are not alone. The invitation to attend is open to the community. MCC is located just south of the elementary school at 1015 Sheridan St., Frankton.

Elwood Summer Concerts in the Park 
Entertainment in Callaway Park, Elwood, is back this summer.  Concerts in the Park will begin on Sunday, June 10 at 4 PM. All concerts will be held at the Jim Knoop Band Shell located in Callaway Park (North 19th Street). The rain location is the cafeteria of the Elwood Community Jr/Sr High School located one block north of the park.
