Okay, someone please tell me how it is already February?!? Wasn't it just Christmas? I was in the store a few weeks ago and in the same aisle are loads of Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Easter decorations and candy!
Holidays seem to be the milestones by which we measure the speed of time and putting out Easter at the end of January makes me feel like the year is already 1/3 over!
Note to the commercial marketing gurus: please give me a minute to catch my breath!
Unfortunately we sort of understand why they market so early. Already we are getting inquiries about absentee home care for the summer as our snowbirds consider their departure plans.
Yes, season just got into full swing, but still, it is never too early to vet someone to care for your home. As a matter of fact, as I write this, we just received a phone call to sign up a new client for that exact reason!
The reasons I love this business are too many to list but I can tell you this: Making a difference in people's lives is the primary reason I get up every morning and why we continue to do this year after year!
Yes it is February and people won't start leaving until April or May but now is the time to get quotes for summer projects.
Our clients love having us do remodeling, maintenance and/or repair projects over the summer because they don't have to endure the mess and noise that accompanies those projects.
Plus, we keep our clients fully engaged in the process through pictures and status updates which they truly appreciate.
If you have something on your 'someday' list -- perhaps now is the time to quote that project. Tasks like painting, flooring, handyman jobs, cabinetry, bathroom remodels, kitchens and the like. If it's on your to do list, we can get it done!
But wait -- there is no good segue here, but I am going to deviate for a second -- there are a couple other things I wanted to share with you today:
First, in case you haven't heard, Google is changing how GMAIL works. If you use GMAIL, please take a moment to read this in case it affects you in any way: Google Gmail Changes
Second, Valentine's Day is right around the corner and we want you to know our staff acts as proxy Cupid's -- so if you need assistance with gift shopping, wrapping,
flowers, balloons, mailing, delivering treats to work or party planning (whether for 2 or 200), please let our Cupids know and we'll get it done for you!
Third, there are five (5) holidays TODAY (Feb 5) -- they are:
--Chinese New Year -- it's the year of the Pig - so if you were born in 1935, 1947, 1959 0r 1971.... It's YOUR year! Enjoy! More info about the Chinese Zodiac can be found here.
--National Chocolate Fondue Day -- yes, I'm getting out the fondue pot for this! To make chocolate fondue all you need do is mix two (2) cups of dark chocolate with 1 ½ cups Heavy cream - microwave for 30 seconds at a time until melted (stir after each 30 second interval). Once melted, add more cream until you get desired consistency - dip marshmallows, strawberries, pound cake, Rice Krispie treats, bananas, pretzels - the list is endless! If you make a mess, that's okay because today is also:
--National Shower with a Friend Day -- I'm not asking, please don't tell me
--National WeatherPerson's Day -- Say hi to Patrick Evans!! Here is his Facebook Page.
--World Nutella Day -- As I am not a fan of Nutella, I'll be skipping this one!
