Do Your Miters Measure Up?
A common problem in piecing is the construction of mitered corners. One of our prior employees, Deb B., had the answer down pat. She simply looked up a previous pattern that she had used that showed how mitered corners were done correctly.
That pattern was one of Ruth's creations, Bear's Paw Sampler. This was a shop hop quilt that was later published.
Go to the area titled "Make The Mitered Corners" starting on page 6. Note that previously we have made sure that the center of the quilt is square, with 90⁰
corners.
Yes, your pattern may have different depths of the mitered borders, but the steps and technique are the same. These steps will help you produce excellent mitered corners!
