Dear Transracial/Interracial Adoptees,
- Do you feel overwhelmed by the burden of being your parents’ teacher regarding race and racism?
- Do you want to be able to talk openly with your adoptive parents about race and racism?
- Do you wish your adoptive parents had a place to go to talk and learn with others about race and adoption?
If you feel like all your forwarded articles and videos go unread and unviewed by your adoptive parents, if you are tired of insisting that your experience as a BIPOC person is real and true, and you need your adoptive parents to understand race better in order to stay in community with them, please tell your parents about our upcoming adoptive parent course, Transracial Parenting.
This eight-session online course is an adoptee-developed and led curriculum designed to help take the burden off our adoptee community as the teacher of their adoptive parents about race, racism, and their own racial identity. This course is a chance for your adoptive parents to learn from other adoptees besides you and connect them with a community of adoptive parents who are trying to learn about the same.
Not sure how to get your parents to register? I’d love to chat with you about strategies and ideas. Schedule a short chat with me below.
