Dear Bobcat Community,

As we begin our Spring 2023 semester we’d like to provide a few reminders around our COVID-19 mitigation measures.

  • The face covering requirements based on CDC defined transmission risk levels for Merced county that was enacted this past fall semester will continue for the Spring 2023 semester.
  • As a reminder, it is expected that the status will change from week to week and it will be the responsibility of each individual to monitor these adjustments. We will update the DYP website with the current status each Thursday evening to correspond with the adjustments made by the CDC.
  • UC systemwide SARS CoV-2 Vaccination Program is still in effect. All students, faculty and staff who are active on UC Merced controlled properties are required to comply with the program. The current policy is under review for systemwide comments and adjustments are expected to be made 2/1. The COVID Response Center will provide local implementation procedures once the revisions are finalized.
  • When sick please stay home. Individuals who are symptomatic or COVID-19 positive are to notify the COVID Response Center and coordinate next steps accordingly.
  • As with the fall semester, we will be relying on Antigen “Rapid” tests. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to pick up a test at our distribution kiosks located at Granite Pass and COB1.

We thank everyone for their diligence and continued contribution to our campus’ health and wellbeing.
