Judaism's basic statement-summary of faith

“Sh’ma, Yisra’el! Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad [Hear, Isra’el! Adonai our God, Adonai is one]; and you are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources. Deuteronomy 6:4-5 CJB

But you, remain steady in every situation, endure suffering, do the work that a proclaimer of the Good News should, and do everything your service to God requires. 2 Timothy 4:5 CJB

xxxIn Matthew 22, a lawyer/Torah expert asked Jesus a question in order to test Him: Rabbi, which of the mitzvot/commandments in the Torah/OT is the most important? (v.36). Jesus quoted the Shema in response: " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. All of the Torah and the Prophets are dependent on these two mitzvot/commandments. (vv. 37-40).

xxxThe whole of the Christian life was summarized by Paul in one sentence in 2 Timothy 4:5. But the fact is, if we attempt to follow Paul's instruction as a set of rules, it will soon become very burdensome. But if we approach the Christian life, not as a set of disciplines, but as an expression of love for God and others, we will enjoy a more successful and sustainable Christian life.

xxxWe never have to be pushed into doing the things we love. We run to them, we long for them, we make time for them, and we even make them a priority. This is exactly why the Shema was Jesus' response to the lawyer who questioned Him. "It's all about love" was Jesus' answer.

xxxNot that there are no disciplines at all in love, but have you noticed how easy it is to overlook something in someone you love than it is in someone you dislike? Have you noticed how you can accept things you don't understand when it pertains to someone you love as compared to someone you don't?

xxxLove changes things, including your perception and reaction to the actions of others. God does things you do not understand, and at times other Christians do things you dislike. But what should be your response? Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength, and love your neighbor the way God loves you!

xxxOur ministries most pressing times are keeping our hearts right loving those that adamantly, sometime violently resist the Gospel.

xxxWhat an inspiration daily in this song as my heart wants others to find and live this life in Messiah Jesus! Several times recently I have witnessed to Jacob and Brent, at some length showing from the Bible and my salvation testimony the truth in this song. Both are considering our conversation, and I will soon be with them again. Pray they will come to the Lord! As I started my walk to Jesus through someone I did not know when he only said, "God loves you!" I pray they too will be moved by hearing from me these same words. God's irresistible Grace because of available unlimited Atonement in Jesus' shed blood can be found by all who honestly seek God. When you seek me, you will find me, provided you seek for me wholeheartedly. Jeremiah 29:13 CJB

Who is Messiah Yeshua-Jesus?

Therefore, we are ambassadors of the Messiah/Christ,

in effect, God is making his appeal through us. What we do is appeal

xxxA sweet Jewish neighbor who opposes the Gospel arrived recently unexpected as I was beginning dinner... A kind stranger arrives at our Bible study with a very needy heart and a desire to take over the study time... A women arrives very late to our Congregation dressed as a Muslim with a bizarre story to tell... Another neighbor throws a rock through our ministry car window, not once but several times. Expressing love and having patience is God's specialty, mine, not always. Jesus, our very loving and patient Lord and Savior delights in giving us bountiful experiences to help us be more like Him!

xxxFortunately, God's Holy Spirit lives in us and HE alone can give us the desire to want this life for others that we have in our Messiah. HE alone gives us the ability to love others and to be patient in our thoughts and actions. As Believers we have the chance every day to experience this precious gift! I'm sure it spurs you on also to continue and trust Your Messiah more and more! Thats the life we need and want while we still have life and breath to serve God in our present situations.

May God, the source of hope, fill you completely with joy and shalom as you continue trusting, so that by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) you may overflow with hope. Romans 15:13
