Do you need to test your water?
Do you get sick because of your water?
Untreated water is responsible for many illnesses and deaths we see worldwide. Water related diseases are responsible for 80% of all illnesses and deaths. Heat is the only proven process that is effective in destroying all waterborne pathogens. Pasteurization temperature (149°F / 65°C) way below boiling will kill all harmful bacteria. The WAPIs are an indicator that shows you when liquids obtain the proper degree.

Greetings!
What causes contamination of water?
Fertilizers, pesticides, when it rains industrial waste and animal waste from farms and wild animals wash nutrients and pathogens, such bacteria and viruses, into our waterways.
Nearly 40 percent of Americans rely on groundwater pumped to the earth’s surface for drinking water. Ridding groundwater of contaminants can be difficult to impossible, as well as costly. Once polluted, an aquifer may be unusable for decades, or even thousands of years.

Meanwhile, our drinkable water sources are finite: Less than 1 percent of earth’s freshwater is actually accessible to us. Without action, the challenges will only increase by 2050 when global demand for freshwater is expected to be one-third greater than it is now.
What common disease organisms are killed by pasteurizing water?
Giardia, cryptosporidium, entamoeba, the eggs of worms, cholera, shigella, salmonella bacteria and those that cause typhoid, E. Coli, hepatitis A and also rotavirus which is a major cause of disease in children - all are killed or inactivated at 65° C / 149° F.

To test whether water has been heated enough to make it safe to drink, you can use a thermometer or a WAPI,

Portable Medical Lab Testing Equipment
The portable medical laboratories enable us to test for E-coli contaminated water anywhere in the world. These test kits are internationally recognized for accurate water testing ability. Colilert tubes and petrifilm is the basis for identification of E-coli, the bacteria that causes diarrhea. Each test we conducted with this equipment proved that when the WAPI was used as instructed, all harmful bacteria was eliminated. Our WAPI has a melting temperature of 154°F, which is well above pasteurization temperature at 149°F / 65°C. No matter where the water comes from, including the toilet. If you would like to do a water test of your local stream, contact me at 503-801-8642, and we will teach you how to use a kit.

What is a WAPI Story?
It’s a recollection of what happens when a person receives a Water Pasteurization Indicator, WAPI.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could share each other’s stories with our extended WAPI family. When you share a story, we begin to know you better. There aren't enough words to say how very grateful we are to be run by extraordinary volunteers and the rewarding, but necessary donations it takes to cover costs.
.
We want to know the WAPI Family too.

A WAPI Story 2016
Bob Tait, founder of
WAPIs for the World, took a trip to Honduras in June 2016. While there he joined other WAPI people who flew in to help. The main goal of visiting people was to help the Hondurans learn sanitation procedures, personal hygiene and introduce the WAPI to the neighboring villages. Since the WAPI was introduced to people of this village two years earlier, the people knew how the device worked and were loyal to its use and realizing they were not getting sick anymore.
Bob brought tools and supplies to teach the villagers how to make WAPIs for themselves and to share with other villagers. To make it more valuable since the WAPI cost only a dollar to make (at that time), the local leader, using the barter system, asked the villagers for payment of a dollar for one WAPI or they could weed the garden, bring in fire wood, etc.
A month ago while in Honduras, Bob became reacquainted with a woman who had been using her WAPI several times a day for two years. He was impressed with the family’s conviction in the WAPI pasteurization method. Bob gave her a new WAPI in exchange for her old one which he tests here in the USA proving how long it will last. The WAPI is tested over and over because it was said that it would last a life-time. Dave, who makes WAPIs each Wednesday in Vancouver, Washington, wanted to test the strength of the WAPIs. Placing a WAPI on the paved part of our parking lot, he drove back and forth over it twice with his large SUV. The WAPI was fine and had no marks from its ordeal. It was then tested for wax leaks and variations of temperatures. This has proven that the weight and pressure of a large SUV will not damage a small WAPI and the heating of the wax works every time. We KNOW that the WAPI will last a few years at least, if not for a life-time.

Know someone who is interested in knowing more about
WAPIs for the World
? Please forward a WAPI email to them. The September 2018 issue was on Pasteurization and Sterilization. Great way to introduce
WAPIs for the World.

NOTES
:
- If you would like a WAPI for your emergency kit, you may purchase one or more for $2.00 each. Also, we package larger orders of 50 for $100. To order please respond to Margo at margoWAPI@gmail com or Bob niteowl12@hotmail.com
- Our newsletter will be sent on a monthly schedule. Next newsletter: January 9, 2019.
When to use a WAPI?
- When camping, hunting, bicycling or hiking on the back roads.
- When your city says to boil your water, pasteurize instead. The lower temperature saves the minerals in the water.
- Everyone should have a WAPI in their emergency pack.
- WAPIs are used in the process of pasteurizing water as well as juices, cow, goat and other milks.
A non-profit 501(c)3 ministry
assisting globally with safe and healthy water for survival
.
WAPI, an acronym for Water Pasteurization Indicator, is needed and used in
developing countries and impoverished communities including the United States.
We teach villagers how to use the WAPI for clean water, personal hygiene and sanitation.
