Spring into action with MyoFascial Therapy
Happy Spring Everyone!
Time to get ready for outdoor activities; volleyball, hiking, long walks, ocean swims and more. For most of us, keeping our body working like a "spring chicken" means being able to work, play and spend time with family without pain getting in the way. This can be achieved by adding regular massage as part of your health care routine. Did you know you that at InnerMovement, you have access to one of the most talented myofascial therapists in Los Angeles? Gary Casias CMT is our doctors go-to therapist for patients with chronic pain or complicated pain syndromes that don't resolve with Chiropractic or Acupuncture treatment alone.
Every one has their own story which is reflected in the body.
Old injuries, traumas and postural patterns can result in aches and pains. Myofascial Release (MFR) treats myofascial pain syndrome differently. Each person has their individual body-story that led to the pain they are experiencing. Gary truly listens to every client and can ascertain through extensive muscle and neuromuscular assessment the best course of action and therapeutic approach that will give balance and relief.
MFR is a whole-body approach that works with the all encompassing three-dimensional web within our bodies. This web, or what we call fascia does not show up on standard medical tests. MFR helps restore and unwind tangled facia fibers, facia inflammation, and facia trauma/injury
allowing for more free movement between the skin and muscle that lay on top of and below
facia creating increased connectedness to the skin, facia, muscle, tendon, and bone
through structural work, rebounding, and unwinding. MFR technique and Gary's passion and talents with using it, is a hidden gem at InnerMovement that we wanted to highlight this Spring. If you are struggling to move or feel your best and the treatments you have tried thus far haven't worked, we encourage you to book with Gary. His schedule fills up quickly, so don't delay.

We will see you springing out of in the Massage room:)
Yours In Health,

More About Fascia
& Myofascial Release

 More about Fascia:
Most injuries are Fascial (connective-tissue) injuries, not muscular. There are 10 times more sensory nerve endings in your Fascia than in your muscles.

Fascia forms the biological container and connector for every organ (including muscles). It runs Uninterrupted throughout the entire body. The body—and the Fascial net in particular—is a single connected unity in which the muscles and bones essentially float.

Fascia is capable of remodeling itself in a variety of ways depending on the demand we place on it; similar to muscles. Injuries, overuse, lack of use, and poor posture are just a few things that have a negative impact of our Fascial system; leading to feeling tight, restricted movements, compressed nerves, pain, and much more.

Manual therapy that focuses on the Fascia, such as Myofascial Release is a powerful method for:

~ restoring natural settings for posture and function
~ steering small problems away from developing into big ones later on
~ easing the long-term consequences from injury
~ and restoring and extending functional movement

More about MyoFascial Release:
Myofascial Release is a very effective hands-on, soft-tissue technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. We also encourage independence through education in proper body mechanics and movement, self-treatment instructions, enhancement of strength, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.

Myofascial Release can increase freedom of movement, and reduce pain from:
~ Repetitive Stress Injuries
~ Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
~ Rotator Cuff Injuries
~ Shoulder Pain
~ Neck Pain
~ Back Pain
~ Whiplash
~ TMJ Disorder
~ Sinus conditions
~ Headaches/Migraines
~ Piriformis Syndrome
~ Sciatica
~ Joint Pain
~ Arthritis
~ Fibromyalgia
~ Surgery
~ Scar Tissue
~ Sports Injuries

More about Gary Casias CMT
Gary is our "magical healing man" earning his name because he is so good at solving soft tissue conditions that are not responding to traditional Chiropractic and Massage approaches. Gary specializes in John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approachâ„¢, and has more than 1000 hours in related healing techniques, such as Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), and Visceral Manipulation. He works closely with our Chiropractic team to co-treat stubborn cases of Chronic pain. If we can't get you out of pain, Gary will!
With a Bachelors of Science degree in Movement and Sports Science, and a background as a personal trainer, Gary certified in massage in 2008. Myofascial Release is a profound therapy to help his clients break free from bodily pain and physical limitations, and has been the backbone of his therapy.
Gary combines MFR with...
neuromuscular assessment (NKT), other manual and neuro therapies (Rockblades & pods, kinesiotaping, voodoo bands, stretching); neuro-frequency disks; and corrective movements.
NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) – NKT is a corrective movement system protocol, employing a system of precise muscle tests and has the ability to change the programming of the Motor Control Center. NKT has allowed Gary to become even more precise at finding and correcting the underlying cause of his clients' pain.
Cupping is another great Soft Tissue Technique
used by top Athletes, weekend warriors & more...
Cupping Therapy
a type of deep tissue massage+
Cupping is a specialized technique performed by our Acupuncturist
Physical pain implies a blockage of blood flow & energy through a particular area.
Utilizing Cupping techniques our Acupuncturist is able to pull & stretch the tissue creating movement in an otherwise stagnant area. This creates relief in chronically tight, painful muscles. It doesn't hurt one bit, actually it FEELS SO GOOD!

The ancient art of Cupping has been utilized by healers and lay people over many centuries. Cupping is a suction technique designed to pull blood from the body’s deeper tissue to the surface of the area being treated. This new blood brings an abundance of nourishment & healing to the area of muscle spasm, pain & toxic buildup.
Supplement Highlight: Magnesium
Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body, and it is essential to good health. It’s involved in over 300 cellular processes, and optimal intake of magnesium helps support cardiovascular health.* Did you know that magnesium and muscles go hand-in-hand because magnesium triggers a relaxation response in tired, crampy, tight muscles?* The good news is—you can take steps to support your muscle health by supplementing daily with magnesium. It is also helpful for sleep, constipation and stress reduction.*
