Part-Time Faculty Health Care ... for all?
|
|
|
|
For the 1st time ever, CCA has negotiated healthcare for Part-Time Faculty teaching 6+ LHE. If you qualify, be sure to keep a lookout for an email from the district.
We have not forgotten about those of us that are teaching less than 6.0 LHE. Although it has been challenging for us to negotiate with the district in this regard, we will continue with our conversation until an agreement can be fairly reached.

Bargaining for our new contract is just around the corner.
WE WILL NEED YOUR HELP - STAY TUNED.

As a CCA/CTA member, you have a listening ear, a source for advice, an advocate, mediator and even legal representation, if needed. A lot of part-time faculty have had a reduction in their units. Most calls we receive are for scheduling and evaluation issues. If that is you, we are here to help you! For any work-related questions or issues, please contact us for guidance.
If you're not a member already, or if you aren't sure, use this link to join now.

California's natural colors
Due to the weather cycle that we had during our very wet winter and the occasional showers that have followed us into spring the California hillsides and mountains are the not various brown hues that we as Southern Californians have grown accustomed too. Instead purples, oranges, yellows have been peppered into our lovely state.
Here is a quick list of where you can go see some of the majestic colors that come only so often to our State.
- Joshua Tree National Park.
- Murrieta.
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
- Walker Canyon, Lake Elsinore.
- Antelope Valley California Poppy Reservation.
- Point Dume Natural Reserve.
- Chino Hills State Park.

Easter and the Rabbit
Easter is right around the corner and so are the rabbits of California. The rabbit and the egg have been the symbol for Easter dating back to ancient times. Both are symbols for fertility and rebirth and although they have been associated together for so long, rabbits do not in fact lay eggs. The most common rabbits of according to California Fish and Wildlife are "the black-tailed jackrabbit (Lepus californicus), desert cottontail (Sylvilagus audubonii), and brush rabbit (S. bachmani)." The picture above is of a desert cottontail rabbit. Do you have a favorite Californian animal? Email us your answer!
