Weekly Highlights

Our Youngest Visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art

The Kindergarten and first grade students visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art last week where students observed paintings such as “The City” by Fernand Leger and sculptures like “Little Dancer” by Edgar Degas. Students practiced ballet poses while learning about art restoration. The next stop brought students to “Breaking Home Ties” by Thomas Hovenden, depicting a young soldier saying goodbye to family. After lunch a visit to the Arms and Armour room was a highlight before boarding the bus to to return to Doane.
