Docent Volunteer Program Updates

Dear Docents,

I am writing to share about opportunities ahead and a reminder to RSVP/share regrets for upcoming programs. Thank you all and look forward to sharing more details regarding the Docent Training Schedule for new and returning docents. • 5 Docents needed Wednesday, August 3, 9-11:15am ! Nature Area Tour program for Taylor Street Elementary, all hands on deck! Four naturalists have been assigned to support but we need 5 docents to ensure the success and quality of this program.
• Yolo Basin Foundation is offering a Virtual Bat Program, September 18, 4:30-5:15pm, and Bat Walk on September 29, 6-8pm, to observe the Fly-Out. Be sure to RSVP/share regrets here <-- link. 
• Reciprocal tour for Yolo Basin Foundation. Sunday, November 13, 8:15-10:30am. Staff lead: Jacqueline. 4 Docents needed to lead hikes and museum tours for YBF staff and volunteers.
• Details to access your volunteer profile online using VicNet. VicNet is our online volunteer information portal, it is laptop, desktop, and mobile friendly. I am transitioning all scheduling information from volunteersignup to VicNet. A training on how to use this volunteer portal will be added to the training calendar for August and September.
• Please connect with me if you need assistance signing into your profile.
• VicNet will:
• allow volunteers to sign up for shifts up to four months in advance.
• provide scheduling reminders.
• allow volunteers to cancel shifts up to seven days before the assigned shift.
• be accessible for mobile, desktop, and laptop devices.

Volunteer support needed to assist Kimberly at Harvest Day's Effie Yeaw Nature Center booth. More Outreach Events scheduled this year, such as Reptile Show at Cal Expo and Lodi Sandhill Crane Festival!

Provide guests a visit with an EYNC animal ambassador!

Answer general questions about the nature center;

encourage memberships/donations;

how to support or get involved;

share about upcoming programs and events.
