One of the most rewarding aspects of spending time in the great outdoors is spotting the many different types of wildlife with whom we share this great land.
Our surprise visitor in late June (see below) reminds us that boaters, cottagers, hikers and all who embrace escaping the confines of the city must expect, and respect, surprise encounters with wildlife.
Generally, bears want to avoid humans, but occasionally they wander within proximity in search of food.

 Surprise Visitor
This first sighting of a bear on the property (that anyone can remember) occurred Sunday, June 25, at 7:15am, when security cameras tracked this visit from arrival at the Lefroy Harbour south entrance to exit, without incident.
As we share the great outdoors with our wildlife community, we encourage guests to treat ALL wildlife respectfully, avoid close encounters, and do NOT approach for a better look or picture!
Please ensure all food garbage is deposited in the garbage bins (not left outside boats in garbage receptacles), and garbage bin lids remain closed at all times.
Please also report sightings of any concern to marina staff asap.
