Bronchiectasis is a chronic respiratory condition in which the walls of the airways are abnormally enlarged and thickened from inflammation and infection. As a result, mucus builds up, leading to persistent coughing, breathlessness and recurrent chest infections.

Although bronchiectasis is a chronic condition, proper management can help control symptoms and improve quality of life. In this video, Dr. Madeline Strittmatter helps us understand bronchiectasis, including its cause, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options.
