We have received notice that as of 2/20/18, our document custodian now requires that the original Security Instrument and Title Policy must be provided for final certification of loans.
Our document custodian cited GNMA guidelines that clearly indicate the Security Instrument and Title Policy should be original and that copies are only acceptable if the originals have been lost.
GNMA will only allow the use of copies if the Issuer provides, to the document custodian, written verification that the Security Instrument or Title Policy has been lost and is no longer in their possession.
