Happy Week before Thanksgiving (here is the U.S)

With all of the crazy that is going to begin as we roll right into the holiday season, I want to share a few things.

First, my gratitude for you. For your consistent encouragement and support of not only Documented Faith but to me personally.
I am learning, stretching and growing in ways that only God could plan and as we head into a new year, I hope that you continue to walk along side me, in real life and online.
Changes are coming, somethings are going to be put to rest and lots of new things are sprouting and I am excited to share all of it with you.

Secondly, like I mentioned above, the holiday season can be chaotic, crazy and downright hard for many. My hope is that you anchor yourself to Jesus and the joy that only HE can provide.
If and when doubt, despair or sadness rears itself, please remember all of the promises God has made to us. Reflect back on the past 45 weeks of prayers and promises that we have learned about this past year.

I hope that your Thanksgiving holiday is relaxing and enjoyable for you and your family!

With Love,
Stephanie
The heart behind Documented Faith 2018’s theme is “Yes & Amen"
"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God."
  2 Corinthians 1:20

“Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.” Henri Nouwen

This is one of our favorite quotes about joy. It challenges us to do the daily work of choosing joy. Joy doesn’t just happen. We have to CHOOSE IT!
We have discovered in our own lives that JOY comes when we are looking for it…by being grateful for every little thing discovered throughout our day.

Lisa of Love Squared Designs and I have collaborated again to bring you a JOY-filled offering.  We always look forward to dreaming and creating something special together!
You can wear JOY, frame JOY and carry little JOYful cards with you... or pass them along.

The Core Purpose of Documented Faith
It is not about religion. It is about a personal relationship with Jesus. It is about developing the habit of spending time reflecting, reading, worshiping, learning and memorizing God’s word in a creative way. Documented Faith was created to remind, encourage and inspire each other to record, illustrate, document and journal our everyday moments, how God is working in us and through us, what Bible verses speak to us and how they apply to our situations, reminders and inspirational quotes and most importantly, how our relationship with Jesus and with others is growing.*There is no start date, no finish date, no right way or wrong way to do it...just the gentle, persistent encouragement in the way of an email with a verse that lands in your inbox once a week.

The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,the Father, the Almighty maker of heaven and earth,of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven:by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

*The reference to "the holy catholic Church" in both the Nicene and Apostle's Creeds refers
to the universal church, not the denomination.
