RecycleFEST

May 7 | City's Maintenance Facility


The City will be hosting a RecycleFEST at the City's Maintenance Facility. The public can bring up to four paper grocery sacks of documents for shredding at no cost.


Community service hours are available for scouts and high school students needing hours. Call 969.1800 to volunteer.

Spring Celebration at the Market

May 7 from 9 a.m. - noon

Downtown Lee's Summit


Head to the Farmers Market this Saturday and enjoy live music and activities for kids while you shop for fresh produce, plants, baked goods and more. The first 250 shoppers will receive an insulated market tote bag and the first 100 kiddos can decorate a flower pot.

Drinking Water Week

It's Drinking Water Week! Water is our most precious resource. It's essential to the health and safety of our community! Now is an important time to appreciate all that it takes to ensure high-quality drinking water is there when you need it.

Water Tower Recoating


Work to recoat the Woods Chapel water tower is underway with an expected completion date of June 15, weather permitting.


The City operates and maintains 30 million gallons of water storage as part of the water distribution system. During a recent inspection of the water tower, it was determined that the water tower's steel coating needed to be replaced. The towers are inspected every five years internally and externally for needed repairs. 

May is National Walk and Bike Month


Participate by exploring one of Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation trails. Did you know there are free bike rentals at the Longview Community Center and J. Thomas Lovell Jr. Community Center at Legacy Park?

Fishing Derby

May 7 | Legacy Park Lake 


Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is hosting the 2022 Annual Kids Fishing Derby Saturday, May 7 at Legacy Park Lake. Children ages two to 16 will compete for prizes for the biggest and smallest fish.
