Join us in Celebrating this Success on #GivingTuesdayNow

As the global community continues to face the COVID-19 crisis together, Animals' Angels is grateful for the opportunity to participate in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity organized in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this difficult time the Animals' Angels team is determined to continue advocating and fighting for change until all horses are safe from the horrors of the horse slaughter industry. We hope you'll stand with us on #GivingTuesdayNow as we work for positive change in the lives of innocent animals.
This month we're also celebrating wonderful news about the success of the Animals' Angels' expose featured in last month's newsletter. As reported, our investigators uncovered a disturbing connection between several dog food producers and the Mexican horse slaughter plant Carnicos de Jerez. After digging deeper, our team discovered that these producers, who were marketing healthy, ethically sourced pet food to unsuspecting consumers, were actually buying horsemeat from animals of mostly unknown origin and with unknown drug history from the notoriously cruel Mexican slaughter plant.
We're thrilled to report that in response to our investigation German organic dog food producer Landguth recently confirmed that they will no longer source any horsemeat from Mexico. This is a huge win for the horses since Landguth was importing hundreds of thousands of pounds of horsemeat prior to our investigation.
We're confident that this development will result in a substantial reduction in the number of horses sold to Carnicos de Jerez from US shippers, and thus save these horses from the inhumane conditions and horrific death they would have suffered at the Mexican slaughter plant. We also expect that the move by Landguth to stop buying horsemeat from Mexico will reduce profits for large scale US kill buyers such as Mike McBarron.
It's truly gratifying to see that Animals' Angel's ongoing strategy to reduce the demand for horsemeat in any way possible has once again allowed our investigative team to detect, uncover, and expose the trade deals of global players such as Carnicos de Jerez that attempt to make a profit off the back of innocent horses, and which otherwise would remain undetected.
