2019 Calendars Feature Local Teen's Paintings
Meet Julia Cisneros, a 15-year-old from Bridgeton, Michigan. Bellwether commissioned Julia to paint 26 portraits of dogs and cats for the 2019 Bellwether Harbor calendars. We are hosting an artist's reception Thursday, Oct. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the Artsplace ( 13 E. Main, Fremont) where her work will be displayed in the Corridor Gallery from Oct. 12 through Nov. 3. This gifted artist has an eye for capturing dogs and cats. This will be Julia's first professional show and we are thrilled with her paintings (see below for the covers). Being the owner of five dogs, she is an avid pet lover which helps her capture each one's personality. Thank you Julia for caring about rescued animals!

2019 Calendars Are A Unique Gift
Our 2019 calendars will be for sale after Oct. 18. The calendars feature animals that have been adopted in the last year. We have one for cat lovers and one for dog lovers. They can be purchased for $20 at Liberty Jewelers and the ArtsPlace in downtown Fremont or at Bellwether Harbor. We want to thank Deur Speet Motors in Fremont and their official greeter, Ozzy, for sponsoring the calendars. The next time you need to purchase a vehicle, give Ozzy a scratch behind the ears and tell him Bellwether Harbor sent you! All proceeds from the sale of the calendars help the dogs and cats in the shelter waiting for their forever home.
Healthy And It Feels So Good!
Snickerdoodle's face pretty much sums up how she feels about all the help she received during her heartworm treatment. She even found a family and has already been adopted and Bandito is ready for adoption. Jarvis will be ready soon and Isaac and Happy Hogan are still undergoing treatment but appear to be doing well. We can't thank you enough for all the support that allowed us to take in five dogs requiring months of treatment and give them the help they needed. (Imagine a big wet tongue giving you virtual kisses for your thoughtfulness and generosity!)

Shelter Dogs & Alumni March in Parade
The Fremont Harvest Festival Parade was a great opportunity to reconnect with Bellwether Harbor alumni dogs and their adopters on Sept. 20. It was a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone who supported and walked with us.

Spotlight on Grand Dames
Ivey Mae
All of these grand dames shown above have been in the shelter for a while now. They are shy with new people and hesitant to step out. Do you have a place in your heart for a new friend? Do you know someone? Everyone of these would make a great addition to a senior who needs unconditional love. They have lots of purrs and snuggles to share. Can't adopt? Help support their care until a forever home is found. Donate Now
Visit  Bellwether Harbor  to learn more about these animals.
