Community Pet Shop in Huntington will be hosting Yappy Hour! Pets and pet parents can meet, mingle at what has been called a "Cocktail Hour for Dogs". Money will also be raised to support the Almost Home Animal Rescue & Adoption center! For more info click here.

Central Library's plaza is going to the dogs! In honor of National Dog Day, w e'll have dog-themed activities and story time for kids, plus treats and wading pools for our four-legged patrons. If you're looking for a furever friend, rescue groups will have adoptable dogs available. Dogs and dog lovers of all ages are welcome!   Fashion Show at 11am : Dress up your pup in summer gear (bonus points for a literary twist!) to compete for prizes, including a Dog Parker membership with free minutes, dog treats from  Leela Ryan , a leash and collar from  Found My Animal  and, of course, a Brooklyn Public Library tote bag.  * Dog sketches: Have your dog's portrait drawn by Kate Gavino of Last Night's Reading * Dog-themed story time * Bandana-making station and other activities * Rescue groups with adoptable dogs * Treats, wading pools and more for our four-legged friends.  For more info click here.  
1st Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride for Paws of War

First annual ride for charity for the Paws of War. Paws of war helps train dogs with veterans and 1st responders.   Starting at renegades of Deer Park address 511 Commack road deer park New York 11729 .  Registration starts at 10:00am, Kick Stands Up @ 11:00am .  Bagels and coffee will be provided Cost is $20.00 a rider and $15.00 for a passenger. Complementary ride T-shirt provided at time of registration. Ride will end at the L.I. Pour house with a 3 hour happy hour, a free Buffet, raffles and a 50/50 with music. truly is a BIG teddy bear! He is 9 years old and ready to find his forever family! He loves everyone he meets and would love to find a family that is home most of the day, or all day would make him even happier! Teddy does need to be the only dog in the home and would prefer an experienced owner.

Biscotti is a handsome brindle boy, between two and three years old. He's a pro at catching treats in the air. He loves to play with toys, especially the ball. He would do okay with calmer dogs. He would prefer a home with kids 5 and up.
