Paint a Piece

We are excited to see everyone at Family Paint Night on Tuesday! If you have questions, please contact  Tiffany Smith .

Dolphin Tale Ball

Calling all current Dogwood Dolphin Princesses! You are cordially invited to the Annual Dolphin Tale Ball on December 6th! Please RSVP HERE by November 29th so we can plan accordingly!

We are looking for volunteers for the week of the event, as well as the entire day of the Ball. We want to make it a special night for our Dogwood princesses, and we couldn't do it without the amazing help of our parents. Please take a moment to view the Dolphin Tale Ball volunteer opportunities and sign up for a shift!

An Amazon wishlist has been created to make it easy to purchase donations for the event. Just purchase the items online, and they will be shipped directly to Stacy High, the event coordinator! We appreciate your help in providing supplies for the evening!

Please contact Stacy High with any questions.

Welcome to Dogwood, Mrs. Woody!

From GMSD Communications:
Dogwood Elementary has a new principal. Jessica Woody, a longtime Germantown Municipal School District educator, was chosen to lead the 700-student school. She replaces Teresa Price who has become the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Education.

Mrs. Woody has been working as an educator for twenty-two years. She taught social studies, math, and reading for nine years; served as an Instructional Coach for Shelby County Schools; and has spent the last twelve years as an Assistant Principal at Houston Middle School.

At HMS, Mrs. Woody excelled at positive parent communication, developing meaningful relationships with students, and building an inclusive school culture. Mrs. Woody has also played an active role in GMSD's Blue Chips program which helps to develop new teachers in the district.
"I have been blessed to work with the most amazing children and staff during my time at Houston Middle School," said Jessica Woody. "Few people in the world can say that they love going to work every day, and I truly do."

"Jessica is a proven educational leader who is down to earth and loves interacting with students and staff," said Superintendent Jason Manuel. "Her knowledge of our district will be a huge benefit in preparing elementary school students to take advantage of the academic opportunities at Houston Middle and Houston High School."

Mrs. Woody is a University of Memphis graduate and the proud parent of an HHS student. Interestingly enough, she attended Dogwood Elementary School as a student.  She is excited to begin her new post back where it all began. "I am so excited about this new opportunity at Dogwood Elementary and look forward to continuing the outstanding work that happens every day at DES," said Woody.

Welcome to DES, Mrs. Woody! We are excited to have you!
