TN Ready Testing

April 15-18 and April 22-26 Dogwood will be giving the TN Ready Assessment. Testing will take place each morning from 9:00-11:00.

Please make every effort to have your student(s) at school on time, avoid missing tests, and please if possible, avoid checking your child out from 9:00-11:00, during testing. I appreciate your help with this. Once testing begins, students won't be admitted into class, until the test is completed, or the class is taking a break. In the event that your student (s) misses a test, make up sessions will take place each afternoon during testing.
Other tips to get testing off to a great start: Enough Rest, hearty breakfast and positive words will help our students have a positive testing experience.

Reminders from our Administrators

Visits to the School

We have lots of visitors for various reasons everyday, and we love that parents are able to come spend time with their children. Please help us with the safety and security of all staff and students by signing in at the main entrance every time you enter the school building. Parents are not permitted to walk students to their classrooms in the morning. Name badges must be worn while visiting the school.

Please do not use your cell phone while in the carline. It is against the law! Please move up to the car in front of you so that we can load as many cars at one time as possible. This will help make carline move faster for everyone. Please be patient while waiting in carline. Do not pull out and pass other cars unless you have been directed to do so. Please do not make a u-turn out of the carline.

Please remind your students that no food is to be eaten in classrooms or on school buses. Students should not take food or drinks out of the cafeteria and they should not open their lunch boxes in the classroom or on the bus. This helps to keep all students safe and classrooms clean.

Thank you for your help! We love our DES family:)
Support Our Art Program

Our Art Teachers have an Amazon Wishlist for books that will be used to support art instruction during art classes. Though they are not checked out of the art rooms for students to take home, Ms. Luyendyk and Ms. Drury both have reading areas in their rooms available to early finishers. They also utilize the books as an option on Freedraw Days, which are a reward for great classes and students at the end of the quarter.

Please visit this link and select an item for the art rooms:

Our wonderful Art Teachers need help preparing for our annual Fine Arts Night! They need help filling out forms for each student and preparing the artwork for display. It is just an hour and ANY help is appreciated!! Thank you!
