S.T.A.R. Awards

Dogwood PTO is pleased to nominate Ms. Diane Perry (4th grade), Mrs. Rosie Naldoza (Financial Secretary), and Mrs. Stacey Schwarzmann (5th grade parent and cross country coach) as recipients of the GMC S.T.A.R. of Excellence Awards. The S.T.A.R. Awards recognize those who go above and beyond and provide exceptional dedication and service to our school. S.T.A.R. nominees are kind and caring, bring out the best in others, and invest time and talent to support our school and our students.

Also nominated for the Legacy of Excellence Award is  Nabiha Huda (mom to Rayyan and Sami Huda and Vice President of Events for the Dogwood PTO). The Legacy of Excellence Award was created in memory of Kristen Ames Melton, whose legacy is one of kindness, selflessness, and tremendous work ethic. Nominees should embody the qualities that made Kristen so special, and we are pleased to nominate Nabiha for this honor.

The S.T.A.R. Awards will be held on April 16 at City Hall.

Our Art Teachers have an Amazon Wishlist for books that will be used to support art instruction during art classes. Though they are not checked out of the art rooms for students t o take home, Ms. Luyendyk and Ms. Drury both have reading areas in their rooms available to early finishers. They also utilize the books as an option on Freedraw Days, which are a reward for great classes and students at the end of the quarter.

Please visit this link and select an item for the art rooms:

Don't forget your ID!

Everyone has been doing such a great job checking in and out with Mrs. Toll at the main entrance. You must be prepared to show your ID every single time you come to school to visit or to check out a student.  Additionally, all visitors should wear their printed ID badge at all times when in the school building. Thank you for cooperating with these procedures to ensure the safety of our children!
