PTO Meeting This Week

This month's PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 13th, at 9:00am in the cafeteria. We look forward to seeing you!
School Policy Reminders

All parents and visitors must enter through the main entrance and sign in at the desk every time they visit.  Please do not enter the building at the Dogwood Road entrance at any time.

Please remember to always bring your driver's license with you every time you come to the school.  It is GMSD policy that you cannot enter the building or check out a student without proper identification.  Even if you have previously presented your driver's license and are in the RAPTOR system, you still need to be prepared to present your identification every school visit.

Parents visiting during lunch must wait in the cafeteria, not in the hallway or outside their child's classroom door.

Consider arriving early when checking out children for appointments.  Classes may be out of the classroom at MAPS, recess, or lunch and it will take a few minutes for your child to gather their belongings.

Car line extends down Dogwood Road.  Please be courteous and do not cut in line.

We have many students with a wide range of severe, life threatening allergies to various nuts, milk products, wheat, soy, strawberries, kiwi and much more.  Because of this, Dogwood does not allow sharing food treats on any occasion. Please do not bring in treats to share in the classroom or in the lunchroom.

Students may not be checked out after 3:15 pm. This includes siblings of students who are being checked out early after a grade level event or performance. If you plan to check out a sibling after a child's performance, you must check them out prior to 3:15 pm.

We understand that things happen and you may have to change the way your child is getting home in the afternoon. However, the safety of all students is a priority. Therefore, transportation changes must be made prior to 2:30 pm by contacting the school.

Thank you to our school administration and staff for working to keep our children safe!  Parents, let's all do our part to help promote safety and graciously follow school policies.
A Message from the School Nurse

Nurse Maddie needs your help! It's that time of year, which means the Nurse's Office is staying busy! We can help ease the traffic by volunteering in the Health Room to provide assistance with simple needs such as band-aids, temperature check, and/or a phone call to a parent. This helps Nurse Maddie to be more available to students that require a skilled nurse.

Shifts run from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, but we are happy to have your help even if for a shorter time frame (just leave a comment when you sign up). Please consider signing up for a shift and let's try to get the Health Room staffed through the end of the year! Thank you for supporting Dogwood!

Also, please do not send children to school with any medication. All medication (including cough drops) must come to Nurse Maddie from a parent.

Anonymous Alerts

What is the Anonymous Alerts app?

The Anonymous Alerts anti-bullying and safety app reporting system helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. Social and peer pressure are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome.

The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between submitters (students, parents or community members) and district administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or to reveal their identity when submitting a report.

How does it work?

To use this revolutionary new app, students, parents or other school personnel can simply visit the Germantown Municipal School District website and click on the "Anonymous Alerts" button or text link to submit a report expressing their concern.

Anonymous AlertsĀ® mobile applications can be downloaded directly from the Apple, Google Play or the Chrome stores.
