Parents are welcome to attend, although please remember that the children are honoring the veterans, not performing for parents.
If you have a family member who is a veteran who would like to attend, please complete the Veterans Day form by November 7th.

Please help the counseling department reinforce the importance of being NICE and how it shapes character and promotes becoming a world changer.
Poster Contest

Each year the State Fire Marshal's Office (SFMO) holds an annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest to celebrate Fire Prevention Week. Posters are submitted to local fire departments by schools across the state. Each fire department holds a local competition, and the winning poster from each grade level competes at the state level. An awards ceremony is held each February to honor the winners.

This year's theme for Fire Prevention Week and the Fire Prevention Poster Contest is "Not every hero wears a cape. Plan and Practice your Escape." According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), you have as little as one to two minutes to escape a house fire. Having an escape plan and practicing emergency exit drills can be the difference between life and death in an emergency. It is crucial that our fire departments use Fire Prevention Week to promote public awareness of fire prevention and fire safety, drawing special attention to the importance of home fire escape planning and Exit Drills in the Home (EDITH).

For more information about the annual poster contest, view the official rules  here.

Entries need to be submitted to the Germantown Fire Department no later than November 1, 2019.
