NEW NVC INITIATIVE

EXECUTIVE MEMBER FORUM

At NVC, we understand that today’s economic landscape is shifting rapidly, creating both challenges and opportunities for businesses across the Greater Washington Region. In collaboration with our Board Officers, Strategic Leadership Board of Advisors, and professional staff, we have been closely monitoring these changes to ensure we remain a steadfast resource for our members.

To address growing concerns and facilitate real-time strategic discussions, NVC is proud to introduce the Executive Members Forum (EMF)—a private, digital space exclusively for NVC member executives. This confidential, invite-only Microsoft Teams forum is designed to empower leaders with a direct line to their peers, allowing for seamless information exchange, strategic collaboration, and problem-solving in an evolving business environment.

NVC CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?...

Business leaders and elected officials celebrate the 2013 grand opening of the Chamber offices.

In 1980, my mother and I started Temporary Solutions, Inc., with me balancing work during the day and taking evening classes at George Mason University. From the beginning, I understood the importance of building connections—which led me to join the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (now NVC).

As our business expanded into Employment Enterprises, Inc. and its subsidiaries, I worked my way up from being a Chamber board member to having the honor of serving as Chairman from 2012 to 2013, alongside Mark Moore as Vice Chairman. That year brought unexpected challenges when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to the incredible support of our business community, I remained focused on key issues like supporting transportation and advocating for innovative business growth to keep our commerce healthy. In the same year, I was humbled to receive the Mason Medal—the University’s highest honor. It was a year that tested me but also revealed to me the power of resilience and community.

In 2017, NVC awarded me a Lifetime Achievement Award and I was recognized as one of the “Trailblazing Women in Labor and Business” by Fairfax County. Today, I am proud to continue championing our business community as a member of the Past Chairman’s Council. As Employment Enterprises celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2025, I reflect on the leadership skills I’ve gained and the unwavering dedication of our business community. Looking ahead, I am excited about the opportunities and growth that lie in our region’s future.
