I’ve been a long-time resident of Fairfax County, and my family and I have always been actively involved in Northern Virginia. I was inducted into the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Hall of Fame and served as Chairman of both the Fairfax Chamber—now NVC—and the Arlington Chamber. Over the years, I’ve also chaired several business and nonprofit organizations.
My time with NVC was especially meaningful due to its strong advocacy for business issues at the General Assembly level. Unlike many organizations that focus on local advocacy, NVC’s statewide influence stood out. Chairing the Chamber gave me the opportunity to collaborate with senior business leaders, gaining insights and education that went beyond traditional learning. This experience not only enhanced my leadership skills but also led to lasting friendships and the ability to influence key outcomes. Today, as President & CEO of Guernsey, Inc., I continue to benefit from the lessons and connections I gained through NVC.
David Guernsey
