WORKFORCE UPDATE

What Does the Future Hold for Northern Virginia Workforce Hiring, Recruiting, and Retention? Take the Survey and help predict our Region's workforce future.

Northern Virginia's workforce--the lifeblood of our Region's business community--is ever-evolving, requiring companies to modify and update their programs or be left behind. With all the workforce changes our Region has faced in recent years, it's no surprise that many employers wish they had a crystal ball that could share how to best attract and retain employees. While not a crystal ball, our annual Northern Virginia Workforce Index predicts future hiring, recruiting, and retention trends within our Region.

Developed in partnership between the Chamber and Northern Virginia Community College, the Northern Virginia Workforce Index demystifies our Region's workforce trends with real, actionable data. Now in its third year, the study begins with a survey open to all Regional businesses. These survey responses will contribute to the understanding and tracking of important workforce trends and provide a long-term view of how businesses’ workforce prospects and practices are shifting and evolving over time.

Through the data collected via this survey, we will then compile our annual report, providing our community's leadership with critical information on hiring, retention, and professional development trends among employers in the Region. Past reports can be found here.

This is an opportunity for you to benchmark yourself against your peers and help our Region--and your own organization--respond to the tight labor market. We encourage you to take the survey and help us spread the word about this important study that will help grow our Northern Virginia Region.

C-Suite Roundtable By Invitation, Members-Only

October 24th

Our Region's workforce woes have become a common theme within our business community. Finding novel solutions to sourcing, training, and retaining new employees has become our modern day leadership challenge.

Join us for our October 24th C-Suite Roundtable where speakers Radha Muthiah, CEO, Capital Area Food Bank; Dr. Anne Kress, President, Northern Virginia Community College; and Cecilia Hodges, Regional President, Greater Washington and Virginia, M&T Bank, will discuss how their novel pilot program is bundling access to food, education, and the opportunity to interview for living wage jobs to improve students' lives...
