19th Annual GovCon Awards™ Winners!
Last Wednesday the Chamber and PSC proudly hosted over 700 attendees at the Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner for the 19th Annual Greater Washington GovCon Awards™. This year's Awards lived up to the reputation as the premier awards event for the Washington area government contracting community.

Along with the individual award winners in the Contractor of the Year and Executive of the Year categories, the GovCon Awards recognized Anne K. Altman as the 2021 Hall of Fame Honoree, Altman is Co-Founder and CEO of Everyone Matters, Inc., a social impact enterprise founded to ensure that everyone has equal access to citizen-based services, healthcare and education.

Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), was named this year’s Public Sector Partner for his contributions to the greater community, particularly during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. 

“The selection process is highly competitive, and all finalists should be very proud of this achievement. Congratulations to the winners of the 2021 GovCon Awards. They represent the best of the best in the government contracting industry in Greater Washington and throughout the region,” said Julie Coons, Chamber President and CEO.

Party Control in Virginia House Changes, Major Economic Priorities Did Not
As an advocacy organization, the Chamber takes this time following Virginia elections to look for signs of emerging priorities of the newly elected or re-elected officials. But, the public policy priorities of the Northern Virginia business community do not change with elections. We need strong investment in education and transportation. We understand being a Right-to-Work state with a low tax environment leads to strong business growth. We need to close a talent gap with a diverse and highly skilled workforce. We must chart a path to achieving these priorities, no matter who holds office.

Women in Business Signature Event: Leading Diversity

The Women in Business signature event is the Chamber’s premier networking and educational event geared toward top woman executives.

This year’s event will focus on women executives who are leading diversity initiatives in their respective companies in a moderated panel discussion This event will provide timely and operational takeaways for executives looking to lead and impact diversity at their companies.
