Working Group Zeroes in on New Tysons Community Organization
Since early last year, the Chamber has been engaged with partners at Fairfax County Government and throughout the Tysons community to develop recommendations for a new “anchor organization” to complement private- and public-sector efforts to promote the growth of Tysons. Chamber members, residents, non-profits and County leaders are all represented on this working group. Over time, the work expanded to become about more than just Tysons, with a renewed focus on place-led economic development. You can read about the working group's findings here, which were shared with the Board of Supervisors at their Economic Initiatives Committee. The working group is recommending a community improvement district, similar to the familiar business improvement district (BID), but with greater involvement of local government and residents.

2022 Capital Region Workforce Summit Offers Virtual Option
Our annual Capital Region Workforce Summit, to be held on June 14th, will boast a new feature this year: optional virtual registration. Attendees will be welcome to network and meet our panelists as part of the event's in-person experience at Virginia Tech's Northern Virginia Center or watch the entire event from their computers. Regardless of which ticket is chosen, all attendees will experience a can't miss event focused on today's workforce challenges. Keynotes Bryan Hancock, Partner, and Brooke Weddle, Partner, McKinsey & Company, will present the results of McKinsey’s Human Capital Report, followed by influential leaders in workforce from business and government, including new Virginia Labor Sec. Vaccination Requirement: Upon review of both the CDC guidance on community levels of COVID-19 and its website listings showing our own Northen Virginia counties' positive case percentages, the Chamber has removed its proof of COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Additionally, the Chamber will no longer require masks be worn. You are welcome to wear a mask if that makes you comfortable.
As always, if you are sick or feel you are getting sick, we ask that you please stay home.
The Chamber will continue to follow COVID-19 guidance from local health departments and the CDC for in person events.
